Participants'
Responsibilities
The Extern
agrees to:
- complete the
Externship with the express purpose of accomplishing the
established objectives;
- keep a journal of the
workplace experience and submit a copy to the
Facilitator;
- submit an
Implementation
Plan based on
the workplace experience using the provided outline as a
guide;
- complete an Evaluation
of the experience and submit all paperwork
- participate in a celebration event
in September to spotlight the Externship experiences;
- allow his/her name to
be used in public relations for the UVBEP;
- share the workplace
experience with his/her faculty, staff, administration
and school board; and
- complete a survey
during the school year to assess the impact of the
Externship experience.
The
Workplace Partner agrees to:
- provide a workplace
experience for the Extern as agreed upon with the express
purpose of accomplishing the objectives stated on the
front of this agreement;
- assign a workplace
mentor for the Extern during the entire Externship
period;
- make every effort to
provide an enriching experience that allows the Extern to
bring back to his/her academic subject area some
contextual learning experiences for their students and an
increased awareness of employer/employee needs in the
present day workforce;
- assist in the
development of the Implementation Plan as
requested;
- allow their names to
be used in public relations for the UVBEP;
- complete an Evaluation
of the Externship experience;
- participate in a celebration event
in September to spotlight the Externship experiences; and
- reimburse the UVBEP
for the Extern's stipend
The UVBEP
agrees to:
- provide a Facilitator
to oversee the Externship experience;
- reimburse the Extern's
school payroll office for the stipend (plus applicable
taxes, contributions, etc.) upon completion of the Extern
Responsibilities.
- serve as the contact
person should any questions or problems
arise;
- make one on-site visit
during the Externship;
- organize the
celebration event and other PR events associated with the
Externships;
- assist with the
Implementation Plan, as requested;
- distribute to and
collect from the Extern and Workplace Partner, all
necessary forms;
- submit a stipend
request to the Extern's school payroll office;
and
- conduct the assessment
survey during the following school year.
The
Extern's School Administrator agrees to:
- support the Extern's
stated objectives; and
- schedule time for the
Extern to present his/her Externship experience at staff
and/or school board meetings.
