Programs and Services for Schools, Employers and the Community
CLiC

CLiC (Connecting Learning in the Community) is an on-line resource that pulls all of our programs together.

  • CLiC Jobs: employers post afterschool, weekend or summer opportunities for students.
  • BEST Employers: employers indicate what resources and opportunities they have to share with schools,
  • Teacher's PET: community members indiacte their willingness to share their expertise in schools.
CLiC Jobs

UVBEP is piloting CLiC Jobs – a mutually beneficial service for local high school students and employers. CLiC Jobs provides an easy way for employers to post vacation and afterschool job opportunities for teens. High school students have access to an online directory of locally available jobs. CLiC Jobs will also provide guidance to help both employers and high school students through the job application process.

Thanks to the following partners for sponsoring the founding of CLiC Jobs in 2005:

BEST Employers (Businesses Enhancing and Supporting Teaching)

Local organizations can indicate their willingness to contribute to educational efforts by providing connections to the workplace (i.e., job shadow, internship, facility tour, Externship, etc.). BEST Employers register with the UVBEP to make their contact information available to partner schools' liaisons. Register in CLiC to become a BEST Employer.

Teachers' PET (People Enhancing Teaching)

Now community members have a convenient way to enhance the educational process. Teachers' PET provides a platform for individuals to express ways they would like to contribute to local classrooms based on their expertise. For example, a woodworker might assist with student projects or a botanist might offer greenhouse tours. Teachers can access this information through their school liaison to gain innovative ideas for classroom use.

Do you have a skill, talent, hobby or unique experience to share with students at a local school? Community members can register in CLiC to become a Teachers' PET.

Note to teachers: You can register here to share your own knowledge, possibly with local students aspiring to become teachers. However, if you are looking for local expertise or resources for your classroom, contact your school liaison.
