Executive
Director

| Kathi
Terami is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with
a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her experience
with school-community connecting activities started as a high school
student through her participation in work-based learning programs.
Kathi has worked in both the business and nonprofit sectors. In 1997,
she began connecting schools with community resources as a Program
Coordinator with a federally funded School-to-Work partnership of
three New Hampshire communities. In 1999, she helped found UVBEP as
an independent nonprofit organization to sustain the federal initiative
regionally in both New Hampshire and Vermont. |

Amy
Tietjen Smith earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell University
and holds a master’s degree in education from Elmira College
and certification as a Career Development Facilitator. Her past experience
includes managing federal, state and foundation grant projects and
budgets for the Cornell Youth and Work Program and volunteer management
and program delivery for the Seven Lakes Girl Scout Council. Amy has
worked with UVBEP since 2000, coordinating programs, developing and
managing the UVBEP website, administering grants and devising systems
for information management. |

| Jennifer
Thygesen holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Cornell
University. She has worked in both the nonprofit and business sectors,
mainly in public relations and program development. Working with UVBEP
since 2006, Jen is involved with all programs, but spends most of
her time facilitating the Everybody Wins!, Junior Achievement and
Leadership Teacher programs, recruitibusinesses to host Job Shadow
Day, and writing grants and the UVBEP Annual Report. |

Erin
Sykes earned her undergraduate degree in Finance from Franklin Pierce
University and her master’s degree in Elementary Education from
Plymouth State University. You may remember Erin from 2002 and 2003
when she worked for UVBEP as our Program Assistant. During that time
she helped pilot programs such as Everybody Wins! and Junior Achievement.
For the 2007-2008 school year, Erin is leading our TIPS Internship
programs at Hartford High School and Oxbow High School. |

Career
Exploration Coordinator

| Lorin
Durand holds a bachelor's degree in Geological Sciences from the University
of Washington and a master's degree in Geology from the University
of Montana. She has held a variety of education related positions
at grade levels ranging from pre-school through college. Lorin formerly
worked as a UVBEP Program Manager facilitating programs such as Everybody
Wins!, Learn to Earn and Leadership Teacher. As the Career Exploration
Coordinator, she will focus on connecting Vermont businesses with
Vermont schools in a variety of programming designed to enhance student
career awareness at the middle and high school levels. |
